What is a dental implant?
The dental implant is the solution of modern medicine for missing teeth and is a device that is fixed in the bone structure, taking over all the functions of the tooth root. Together with the collar part, the implant completely restores the functions and characteristics of the natural tooth, so that the patient will be able to smile, speak, and eat without any discomfort. By introducing the laser into implantology, the implant is inserted into a completely disinfected area, the need to use a scalpel is most often eliminated, and, through biostimulation, the healing time, as well as the pain after the procedure, is minimized. Implants can be designed from titanium or ceramic materials and zirconium.
Who can benefit from a dental implant?
Dental implants are suitable for everyone. In our clinic, patients from 18 years old to 80 years old have benefited from dental implant treatment.
You can confidently resort to dental implant surgery, even if you suffer from conditions such as:
Periodontitis
Diabetes
Osteoporosis
Heart disease
Bone atrophy
In current medicine, there are technologies and solutions for adapting treatment according to the patient's needs. If necessary, the dentist collaborates with specialists from other medical areas (cardiologist, diabetologist, neurologist, etc.) to achieve the best results.
What are the stages of dental implant?
Consultation stage:
it is the moment when we listen to patients' problems and jointly determine the right treatments for themwe assess the patient's health status and problems
we indicate various analyses, depending on the need
we perform a computed tomography scan to take bone measurements and simulate implant insertion
we establish the treatment plan and how it will proceed
Implant insertion stage:
is performed through a minimally invasive and painless surgical procedureno incisions (cuts) in the case of flapless implants
in most cases only local anesthesia is needed
insertion is assisted by LASER to sterilize the area
the implant can be left for 2 to 6 months to osseointegrate or a temporary crown can be applied immediately
after the intervention, LASER biostimulation sessions are performed to help with healing
Crown fixing stage:
after healing, the implant is uncovered using the LASER, avoiding traumatic incisionsthe prosthetic abutment is attached to the implant, which connects the implant and the crown
the crown (ceramic, zirconium or E-MAX) is made using digital CAD-CAM technology, by cementing or screwing onto the abutment
